We’re back with a short video from the Lipovei Youth Centre, where Mirela Stoeac-Vladuti gave an art talk during the Remix ID | Video Art workshops (which took place in September and October), about the video insert “Nedeie” by Andreea Medar and Malina Ionescu.

 “Nedeie” is a symbolic performance about two events that were cancelled due to the pandemic. Among them is the St. Elijah’s fair in Polovragi, one of the most important celebrations in the area of Gorj and Valcea counties.

Mirela spoke, in relation to this performance, about the harsh reality of the loss of traditions – from traditional crafts to the way a group or community relates to collective events that sustain social cohesion and define local identity.
